The Hurricane brought winds and rain today, all day to be exact and it is still raining at the moment. It is a constant rain but not pouring hard. The winds are just enough at the moment to bring a slight breeze into the house with the windows cracked open some.I work from home and have an office on the second floor...Two windows look out over the back yard and having the windows open today while working was refreshing. The direction of the wind and rain allowed for having the windows in the back of the house open all day and as much as this area has had a bit too much rain lately it was actually nice to hear. I am sure that since it is still raining out there that when i look out into the back yard tomorrow when its daylight  i wont be as thrilled about it lol. I am sure things are floating out there by now but it is too dark to see anything.

I am watching ORiely tonight and his show is about the shooting at Fort Hood...The issues here resinate alot deeper then one Major that took it upon himself to avenge the war...Our military does not take care of their own as they should.They take extreme measures to prepare them for the battle field yet they do not take the same measures to assure their mental stability when they return. I know this particular Major has not seen a day in Iraq or Afganastan but with his job he certainly recieved his fair share of the grosome details.If the military doesnt step up and adress this issue the next major incident will be at Fort Campbell, or as we like to call it, Fort Suicide...In just the past few months the number of suicides on this base (not that they share these details with the public or they call these tragic events "accidents")is beyond belief. I dont know of anyone who has or could "Accidently" swallow two bottles of pills, or drive for a few hours after visiting family and returning to base , to pull off the road a mile from the base and park the car on the side of the road and "accidently" shoot themselves in the head. This is just a couple of the many events written off as so called accidents for the benefit of the public and the soldiers benefit or most likely the militarys benefit...all the while these events being covered up will ultimately result in the same tragic ending as what we just saw at Fort Hood.

Hello friends and family...Here it is , once again monday night...that means monday night football in this house !!! Tonight it is the Steelers and the Broncos...not exactlly the game of choice for me but the only game on so it will have to do....I had planned to arrange the scrapbook room and unpack all the stuff that was boxed up to make room for all the people here but i just didnt feel like it..I will have to do it one night this week as i have a photo frame packed up that Kevin made for Neslihan and they now have a photo they want to put in it and also a place to hang it. Kevin sure has stayed busy painting and fixing up the new house. Neslihan has also enjoyed setting up her new home.I am sure we all remember our first house and the fun of making it your own home.

The house has been so quiet now that we are down to one child living here. We dont see her much now that school has started, between college classes and her job she keeps pretty busy. It is nice having a clean house though lol.The bonus is that the other two live very close so we still see them most everyday.

Kyles Birthday is coming up very soon,the older they get the harder it is to plan something for them. Everyone love celebrating the birthdays and it is difficult to find a day that everyone has off work. Most of the time they are put off till the nearest Sunday.That seems to be everyones free day as of lately.

Thanksgiving will be here before we know it as well so i better start getting prepared We were going to have it at Kevins place but i dont think he will be finished with the work he is doing and will also be preparing for a house full himself so we are having it here. Next Saturday Neslihans two brothers will be arriving from France for the holidays and her Parents will be here in early December. This years Christmas party will sure be alot of fun with her family here as well.

Well i seem to be missing too much of this game while blogging so i will have to continue this later. Hope everyone has a wonderful evening and Tuesday as well.

This was a great weekend for football !! The Florida Gators will once again meet up with Alabama in the SEC Championship game on Dec,5th at the Georgia Dome. This will be an awesome game. Winner of that game will probably match up against the Texas Longhorns for the BCS Title game. Having the Gators win another National Championship would be sweet !!!

Football pretty much dominated the weekend so there is nothing exciting to tell you about. Grandma did put her Christmas tree up this weekend LOL, she cracks me up, each year it goes up earlier and earlier. She sure loves the holidays and decorating for them.I havent even gotten started on the X-mas shopping but then again we dont have any little kids here and the young adults thank goodness are past the "i want" stages and just look forward to everyone being together and having nice family time. It is nice when the main focus of the holidays is spending time with each other instead of worrying about buying this or that.Seems like the past few years everyone has looked forward the the annual X-mas party more then Christmas morning or Christmas day. For last years Christmas party everyone made home made gifts for the person whos name they had drawn and that was alot of fun.Everyone had the entire year to think of that they wanted to make and have it made intime for the Party. It was neat to see all the different ideas that people had come up with and how creative they were. 
 

Well its time for me to get back to work...I have alot to do and also have to get my farming done lol.Sometimes our priorities are just warped.

Beautiful fall weather has arrived, lets hope it last awhile. 

Yesterday was such a beautiful day out, sun shinning, temps cool and just enough of a breeze to let you know it was fall. I hope that continues for awhile. All of the leaves have taken on the autumn colors, another perk of living in this area , having the change of season out your window and to not have to travel anywhere to enjoy it. To many of you that may seem trivial , but to those of us that spent many many years in fla. it is certainly a nice change. This past weekend that we spent in Savannah was quite warm and for October it just didnt seem right.

This year has seemed to just fly by so fast that yesterday we finally decided we better start planning the up coming holidays before it gets too late into the month and then we have to rush to get things done.The annual Christmas Party here is something that everyone has been asking about so kaley and i started working on that already. We will have a large crowd here this year so the party should be a great time and the Gift Exchange game will be alot of fun, that is an event that everyone looks forward to as it can be so much fun.

It is also time to start planning the Thanksgiving holiday and menu.there is nothing better then having all the family together for the holidays , even though most of us are all together the entire year thru there are that few that manage to get here for the holidays that we dont get to see everyday. We have been very blessed and greatful that we have had all the kids here for the holidays every year and even now that they are older and have other family in thier lives they still make being here a priority.

This holiday the fun will be watching Kevin and Neslihan decorate thier house and yard for the holidays and the fun they will have together doing it. They are both excited about spending Christmas morning at thier own place and also decorating thier first tree together.I cant wait to take pics for a scrapbook for them.

well i better get busy working, i have alot to get done...part of the reason that this year seems to have passed before our eyes, we have stayed so busy with many different things that it will be nice to sit back and relax here soon and enjoy this time of year.
