Almost too quiet around here Good Morning everyone , i hope you all have had a wonderful weekend and now a great start to this week.I cant believe it has been so long since i have blogged or had a chance to visit anyone. The time just keep slipping away and it looks as though i might not get much blogging in this summer at all. The last of the company left yesterday. Kyle and Brittany took my brother back to Fort Campbell, Ky.We had a great visit with him and while he was here his girl friend from florida also came up to visit and a friend of his that he hasnt seen in awhile also stayed here for the long weekend. All his friends left here on Monday as they had to be back to work on tuesday.
Not long after they got on the road headed towards Ky, Five more headed out the door for a drive to Canada. Neslihans sister in law to be is in Quebec and they drove up there to get her, will take thier time coming back and then she will fly back to France with neslihans parents at the end of the month. My friend Michelle is also with them so they should all be having a great time as Michelle loves road trips and could drive for hours and hours. Good thing i guess considering it is quite the drive LOL.
So after having a house full for the last 5 days the house is now extremely quiet and will be that way for a few days.
Kaley is finally out of school for the summer and will not have to go back until Sept. so i am sure she will enjoy that. Her last exam was yesterday and you could tell she was ready to have that over with. If she didnt have to work today she would have been in that car on the way to Canada with the rest of the crew !!!
Maybe while the house is empty i will get a chance to get down stairs to the mess of a scrapbook room and start setting it up. It is still all in piles and boxes from the time we moved it all down there when we moved rooms around. I just havent had time to get down there to mess with it which means that i havent had time to scrapbook either. This house is usually busy and something going on with someone but i cant ever remember it being as busy as it has been these past three months. It has been non-stop around here so the next few days of a near empty house might be a nice thing...that or the quiet will drive us nuts after a couple days...we will have to wait and see. I do know that these next few days will bring some good sleep. When my brother is in town there is no such thing as sleep. We dont get much sleep to begin with and when he is here he likes to stay up till 4 or 5 am when you have to get up at 6 or 7 and then in the afternoon when you have a million things to do he is napping lol. After a few days of that you are ready for a good nights rest.
This Weekend brings Fathers Day. I hope it is a nice weekend as we are planning a cookout for the day. The travelers will be back by then, actually i hope they will return on Saturday but if not they will be here sunday morning. Grandma and Grandpa will be here for the day also and Grandma and i already have the menu planned so we will just have to spend saturday making sure everything is prepared. We are planning bbq chicken so that if the weather doesnt hold out it can easily be prepared inside and be just as good.OK maybe not as good as on the grill but it will still be good if we have to move it inside. The kids already have a wonderful gift for their dad and this year Grandpa will get a gift different from years past...i will tell you about it after the fact just incase they are lurking around the castle, i wouldnt want to ruin the surprise.Mr.Beth has is such a wonderful dad and the kids all love him to death.All the kids friends even call him Dad as he is just so good to all of them.It wont be long and he will be such a wonderful grandpa also. Kaley said she is so glad that her baby will have grandparents and great grandparents that will love spending time with the baby and be actively envolved in the childs life. Lori also got her Uncle Jack a fathers day gift and that was so sweet of her, she called here all excited about what she got for him and cant wait to give it to him Sunday, when i asked her why she got him a fathers day gift she said he is the best uncle ever and he is so good to her that she wanted him to know how much she loved him appreciated him always being there for her. She sure is a sweet kid, that is for sure. He does spend alot of time with her and doesnt miss anything shes envolved in. She said if it wasnt for her Aunt Beth and Uncle Jack, no extended family would ever show up for anything she did other then my family here and she is right as sad as it is. The good thing is, she knows she has a family here that loves her, and supports her in everything she does and will always be there for her. Her cousins adore her and are always there to spend time with her and we all go to her school functions and she loves that.

I need longer days Please !!!
I seem to be running out of daylight too quickly lately. Work has been busy this week, a nice change from last week but now we are on over load. Seems to be the norm though, either too much work or not enough.I havent had time to blog let alone get around to visit so i am now way behind on what everyone is up to and will have to play catch up as soon as i get the work caught up. I also have to keep busy today and tomorrow in hopes of getting all this done and out of the way before company arrives. I have family coming in from Ky and Fla on friday to stay for a long weekend on top of the family that is already here visiting so the house will be quite busy. We enjoy having everyone here and it just seems normal most of the time. Last night we had all the kids here for dinner and game night again. Over this past weekend we bought a fooseball table and they have all had a great time playing that as well. Kevins In-laws love that game and could play that all day long.This was the first time some of us had played it while they boys had played many times before and like it.Shaun is pretty good at it and since this is Bayrams "game" and there isnt many people that can beat him ( he actually plays two players at once and wins lol) that is just making shaun a better player. Providing mother nature is good to us it looks like we will be spending the weekend right here enjoying each others company . There is plenty to do here and just hanging out together is enough. It is also UFC weekend and we usually will go out for that but with this many people i think we might just make a party out of it and order it on pay perview.
Well i need to get back to work, i hope you all have a great day today this afternoon while watching the Braves game i will be around to catch up with everyone and see what i have missed all week.
Bringin back ole games
While we were out friday the kids wanted to get some new board games, games they use to play as kids, lately they play stuff like pictionary and they wanted games they everyone could just sit around the table and play...so we got yahtzee and Uno blast.They even bought shutes and ladders LOL. The Uno blast is alot of fun and we all sat for hours saturday night playing those games and card games.Apparently they had alot of fun playing because they all want to do it again wednesday night when they all have off work. When the kids were younger we did that alot and it just sort of faded away when they all got jobs in the evening after school and had activities on the weekend with school. Its nice that they enjoyed it so much that they still want to do that and make time for it. Well i need to get busy around here so i will chat with you all when i get a chance to make my rounds to visit, until then , try to be good and stay out of trouble !!!! More baby newsHello everyone, i hope you all had a great day. Although it was rainy here all day it was actually a nice cool day to get some things done inside since i once again was out of work for the day. Seems we are either loaded down with work and feel like we cant get caught up or we just dont have enough to keep everyone busy and we end up with a few days here and there that there just isnt anything to do. Not so bad for me since i work from home and can keep entertained here by getting things done around the house.
Tomorrow is going to be a great day...First thing in the morning we are headed to the doctor to hear the babys heartbeat and see the sonogram. It has been a long week waiting for this day to get here.We are all so excited you would think we were a bunch of kids waiting for Santa to show up or something hehe.It is strange but i think i am more excited about my daughter having a baby then i was about myself having one for the first time.I know that those of you that already have grandkids are just laughing and thinking "she doesnt even have a clue and it hasnt even started yet!!" but i just cant get over how great and exciting this is and we still have 6 1/2 months to go yet. I cant wait till she she really starts showing and that baby starts moving so much that you can see it from across the room !!!
Every morning i have atleast an hour of quiet time to myself to sit outside on the screened in porch, have coffee,listen to the birds chirp and just let tons of thoughts flow thru my head..lately i cant help but think about how lucky i am and how greatful i am to be sitting right where i am in life...we are not rich by any means, we work hard for everything we have like any other middleclass american family, we have joyous days and struggles like anyone else...one never knows when you are going to wake up to a broken washer, or the AC going out, maybe a car breaking down...whatever the issue maybe we all face them at one time or another and no one is ammune to them. We were never handed anything...we work hard for what we need and dont always get what we want just like anyone else...we werent handed a family business..we work for a company that calls the shots and we are greatful to have the jobs that we have..There are even many time where we dont do for ourselves because someone else needs something more then what we need or want....BUT...what we do have...is a marriage that is based on trust, honesty, communication and what some people leave out of a relationship.....respect. We have a loving family that is close and always there for each other...even though we dont all live in the same house i cant imagine going more then a day or two without seeing all my kids. I see them if not everyday then atleast every other day and we have dinner together atleast once a week..that may not sound like much but when everyone works differnent schedules and different days it means the world to me and Mr. Beth just to have everyone here at the same time.I talk to them everyday on the phone even if i do see them and i do not go a day without telling them all that i love them..i know some people think that they shouldnt have to say it because the family member should already know they are loved but in this house you will hear it with heart and meaning everyday. I dont go a day without talking to my brother that is in the military even if it is just a text to say " i love you and hope you have a great day". With that said....i just cant imagine not being a part of this babys life and not being able to spend every possible minute with this child....My daughter has already said that she will not put this child in daycare while she is working and going to school, since i work from home there is no reason why YaYa cant multitask and take care of the baby and work at the same time !!!!!! You know i will be enjoying every second of this !! This child will have more hugs and kisses then he/she knows what to do with LOL..

You should have been there last night Yesterday was a fun and busy day. Last night we even went bowling and i cant tell you the last time i went bowling. we had a great time but my bowling game was not so great lol. Actually it was on the verge of comical to be truthful lol. but it was all good as having fun was all that mattered and that is what we did. They had a big screen tv over the lanes and we watched the Braves game while we bowled , Kaley and shaun were there with friends and like the night before the game went into extra innings and was one of those , on the edge of your seat games. The Braves lost by one but it was a great game to watch and they had a really good time. There is another blog forum that we will read from time to time ( homestead blogger) were you can great some great craft and cooking ideas from and while i was there the other day someone had posted a series of photos they had taken of a bluejays nest. Each day capturing they process from the eggs each day untill the baby birds had feathers and the pictures were just incredible.It was amazing how this lady was able to take those photos and have them come out as clear and close up as they were. It was like something you would see in a magazine. This blog forum doesnt offer the unique blog setup that msn offers and the layout of the blogs arent as nice but there is a feature that is nice for those that dont blog there. you can go from the main page to a friends list and read all the blogs for the day without even clicking on anyones site. you just scroll down the list and read each post for the day and you havent even entered the persons site at all. It is also time saving so you can pass right over post that you arent interesting in reading. Well i have alot to do and today i will be around to visit after i get my work done so have the coffee on please !!!! i will bring the donuts. YaYa !! |
